ok i went to guitar center a few days ago and i was trying some yamaha’s, some ibanez, and some breedlove’s but i tried 2 martins that i loved! it was the martin dsr and the martin d-28….they both sounded great and i was wondering if anyone owned either or could tell me which was best.

Martin, Taylor & Gibson will be the best sound and feel but will be very expensive. Martin, Taylor & Gibson are all made in USA so chances are the guy who made them also plays. Most other guitars are made in Korea on an assmebly line so it’s hit-or-miss to find a decent one. Whatever you buy make sure it is a solid top rather than a laminate.
10 years ago I played a dozen Ibanez AW100’s at a Guitar Center and found one that sounded as good as a $1,000 Martin or Taylor and got it for about $500 out the door. My plan was to upgrade to a Martin or Taylor but the Ibanez still Sounds Great. I just recorded with it today in the studio. It doesn’t “feel” as good as a USA made guitar but it’s got a great sound.
